Laser Hair Removal is permanent for most people. At the Pulse Light Clinic group we specialise in laser hair removal.
This method is less painful than waxing, and because it destroys 'the root' is permanent for most people.
It is also far more cost effective compared with a lifetime of waxing and bleaching .
The Pulse Light Clinic has been based in the City of London for ten years.
The laser light is selectively absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle. The pigment is heated and the hair follicle is destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue.
How is treatment Done? The cold tipped laser is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many hair follicles. The chilled tip is then moved to the next area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.
Who is suitable for Treatment? The majority of people are suitable for treatment. The best results are achieved with clients who have lighter skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of the pigment melanin. Fair hair has less melanin and is more difficult to treat. Grey/white hair has no melanin and is not suitable for laser treatment.
What does laser Treatment feel like? The Light Sheer is a state of the art Laser and has very little discomfort. No anaesthesia is required and most clients describe the discomfort as slight and tolerable.
How does it look after laser hair removal treatment? The dead hairs coming through the skin are shed after 1 – 3 weeks. During this period the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as they are pushed out by the new skin
Are There any side effects of laser hair removal treatment? The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy, this usually subsides within a few hours
How many treatments are needed? The laser light targets only hair that is actively growing. Therefore multiple treatments are necessary to treat hair at other stages of growth. Treatment is conducted every 4 - 6 weeks, this will depend on the area being treated. The required number of treatments varies, but usually 6 or more treatments are needed for optimum results.
How long does each treatment take?Laser hair removal sessions can take from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area.
ConsultationBefore any laser hair removal treatment, the client has a consultation with one of our laser specialists, in which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. This is also an opportunity for any questions the client may have to be answered. A patch test is done at the same time.
