Laser Hair Removal London - Pulse Light

Laser Hair Removal is permanent for most people. At the Pulse Light Clinic group we specialise in laser hair removal.

This method is less painful than waxing, and because it destroys 'the root' is permanent for most people.

It is also far more cost effective compared with a lifetime of waxing and bleaching .

The Pulse Light Clinic has been based in the City of London for ten years.

The laser light is selectively absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle. The pigment is heated and the hair follicle is destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue.

How is treatment Done?
The cold tipped laser is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many hair follicles. The chilled tip is then moved to the next area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

Who is suitable for Treatment?

The majority of people are suitable for treatment. The best results are achieved with clients who have lighter skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of the pigment melanin. Fair hair has less melanin and is more difficult to treat. Grey/white hair has no melanin and is not suitable for laser treatment.

What does laser Treatment feel like?

The Light Sheer is a state of the art Laser and has very little discomfort. No anaesthesia is required and most clients describe the discomfort as slight and tolerable.

How does it look after laser hair removal treatment?

The dead hairs coming through the skin are shed after 1 – 3 weeks. During this period the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as they are pushed out by the new skin

Are There any side effects of laser hair removal treatment?

The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy, this usually subsides within a few hours

How many treatments are needed?

The laser light targets only hair that is actively growing. Therefore multiple treatments are necessary to treat hair at other stages of growth. Treatment is conducted every 4 - 6 weeks, this will depend on the area being treated. The required number of treatments varies, but usually 6 or more treatments are needed for optimum results.

How long does each treatment take?

Laser hair removal sessions can take from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area.

Consultation

Before any laser hair removal treatment, the client has a consultation with one of our laser specialists, in which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. This is also an opportunity for any questions the client may have to be answered. A patch test is done at the same time.

I was one of the worst cases of Rosacea the clinic had ever seen

My Rosacea before treatment

After treatment

I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Pulse-Light Clinic

"Having suffered from Rosacea for many years and having tried a variety of pills and potions, none of which worked, it got to the stage where most of my face was covered in unsightly broken veins. I also had outbreaks of sores now and again a side effect of Rosacea, which were controlled by medication.

A doctor I saw privately was unable to help me. He did however tell me about Pulsed Light Treatment and armed with a list of questions he advised me to ask the people I contacted I headed for the internet.

I chose three companies to contact and picked up the telephone. The first company wouldn’t answer any questions over the telephone. The second company I contacted answered some but not all of my questions and refused to give me even a ball part figure on cost. The third call was to Sheila MacLean at Pulse Light Clinic; it wasn’t just third time lucky I STRUCK GOLD.

Sheila answered all my questions without hesitation and explained in detail what the treatment was all about. She showed interest in my condition, was happy to spend time talking to me and although very professional she spoke to me in such a way that I easily understood the treatment. She suggested that the next time I was to be in London I make an appointment to see her so she could have a look at me. I made an appointment there and then, definitely one of my better decisions.

Two weeks later I met Sheila for the first time and she immediately put me at ease. She stated that I was one of the worst cases of Rosacea she had seen and she agreed to begin treatment. The treatment itself is not painful but can sometimes be a little uncomfortable, like someone flicking an elastic band, however it is not lingering discomfort and it is a very small price to pay for the incredible results achieved which were very obvious after only a few treatments. Although I was initially sceptical, Sheila also advised me on natural supplements I could take to help my Rosacea and I can honestly say that I have noticed a great difference whilst taking them. I have not had an outbreak of sores for over a year.

Sheila MacLean is not only a highly skilled professional with obvious technical knowledge of her subject; she is also a very lovely lady who takes time with her clients. I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Pulse-Light Clinic and I would like to thank Sheila MacLean for all she has done for me.

Apologies for the bad before pictures. Most have been destroyed!"

The broken blood vessels on my face have gone

BEFORE: What's Mark's cheek used to look like before the treatment
image: http://www.prettylikeme.com

Mark Cummins put up with a very visible bloodshot cheek since the late 70s. Luckily, he came across the Pulse-Light Clinic and now the unsightly condition, which did nothing for Mark's self-confidence, is a thing of the past.

When Mark was in his 20s, he decided to join the Territorial Army, and he regularly found himself on the shooting range at Bisley, competing as a member of the TA shooting team. What appears to have happened is that the powerful recoil of the gun, constantly bruising his right cheek, left permanant broken blood vessel and capillary damage. As time progressed, the area of his cheek became more visible as an underlying condition of rosacea worsened.

It just so happens that Mark's brother, Roger, works in the same building at the Pulse-Light Clinic in Fenchurch Street in the City of London, which specializes in treating rosacea. So Mark, who is a chartered surveyor from Leicester, went and had a free consultation at the clinic where he was told that the treatment - Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - would get rid of the condition for him in only six months, at one session a month and at a price that Mark felt was very reasonable. What's more, the clinic was offering a guarantee whereby he would continue to receive treatments until resolution of the condition, at no extra charge. This appealed to Mark as he had heard about other clinics which went through the motions of delivering their treatments without any degree of resultion and with no end in sight - all at extra charge.

So, about 18 months ago, he went ahead and had it done over the six-month period, with each session taking about 45 minutes. "It felt a bit like someone pinging an elastic band at me," says Mark. "It was not unpleasant, just slightly uncomfortable - but there's no gain without pain as they say!"

AFTER: How Mark looks today

"I'm now very happy that it's been sorted out once and for all. It's been on my mind since I was in my 20s and it really didn't help my self-confidence as a young lad. I was very conscious of it but now it has gone and I feel much more confident about myself when I am with others. The treatment was very effective and Pulse-Light Clinic have done a good job."

Pulse-Light Clinic treats a wide range of conditions such as rosacea, sun-damaged skin and excessive freckling and is also effective in the removal of birthmarks, blemishes and tattoos. For a free consultation, contact us on 020 7929 7992 or webcontact@pulselightclinic.co.uk
